He discovered a passion for creation, art and design already as a child. At about 14 years of age he began his training as an interior decorator and designer at the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts. When Mugler was 24 years old, he began designing clothes for a store in Paris named Gudule. Soon he started working as a freelance designer and quickly worked up in the industry. He created his first own collection in 1973, the collection achieved great success and Mugler quickly became internationally recognized. In 2008, Mugler founded a make-up company named Thierry Mugler Beauty.
The first perfume was launched in 1992 and was named Angel. The bottle is in the form of an icy, crystal-like star and the perfume smells of patchouli, chocolate and caramel. Several similar perfumes have been launched, with the same beautiful bottle design in different variations. For example, Angel Black Brilliant Star from 2013 with the scent of patchouli, honey and chocolate, where the bottle is black with small rocks embedded. Mugler has also launched a collection named Alien where the main perfume alien from 2005 fragrances Jasmine, amber and wood. The bottle looks extraterrestrial in a klarlila color with a cutting design. In 1996 the first perfume was launched in the collection A * Butdirected to men. Perfume A * But smells caramel, coffee bean and patchouli.
