Jousset Accident à la Vanille Madeleine de Proust is for those who want to smell like an expensive pastry with questionable judgment. In the best way.
This is an extrait de parfum with a distinct gourmand vibe. It’s sweet, buttery, and warm. Like a madeleine cake with peach marmalade, coconut, and vanilla. A bit of Paris. A bit of patisserie. A bit of “I was just going to spray once” and then everything happened.
Launched in 2022 and created by Jimmy Bodin, the scent is unisex but leans toward the classic sweet and softly feminine side. At the same time, it can be worn by anyone who loves vanilla, pastries, and scents with a big appetite.
The opening is juicy. Peach and apricot give the fragrance a bright, fruity start. It feels yellow, soft, and sun-warmed.
Then comes the coconut. Not beachy coconut. More creamy coconut, like in a filling or glaze. It makes the scent round and smooth.
The base is where Madeleine de Proust gets dangerous. Butter, biscuit, and vanilla take over. Everything becomes warm, baked, and sweet. Not shy. Not stiff. More like someone opening a small box of freshly baked madeleines and saying, “You’re just going to smell.” Yeah, right.
Top notes: peach, apricot
Heart note: coconut
Base notes: butter, biscuit, vanilla
This fragrance thrives best when the air has a chill to it. Fall, winter, and cool spring are its stage. It works during the day if you spray lightly. It suits the evening when you want to take up more space.
For a date? Yes.
For a café? Absolutely.
For dinner? Definitely.
For the gym? Please, no.
For the beach? Only if you want to smell like dessert at 82°F.
It’s lovely with a knitted sweater, glossy hair, a soft scarf, and a plan that just happens to end with tiramisu. It also fits when you want to feel sweet but with a bit of attitude. Like if Blair Waldorf opened a bakery and refused to apologize.
Accident à la Vanille Madeleine de Proust has good longevity and noticeable sillage. It feels exactly how an extrait de parfum should: rich, warm, and present.
On skin, it can last a long time, especially in the base. On clothes, it comes alive even more. The projection is noticeable, especially in the first few hours. Two to three sprays are enough for most. More than that becomes a full dessert menu.
If you love vanilla, sweet scents, and gourmand fragrances, you’ll get it right away. This is for those who want more cake than soap. More butter than citrus. More “I’m obsessed” than “I chose something safe.”
It suits those who like fragrances that feel warm, soft, and almost edible. It also suits those who want a unisex scent with a soft, sweet, and creamy character.
And yes, it’s a little extra. That’s the whole point.
