Jane Wurwand felt that she wanted to make change and therefore started an education in Marina Del Rey, California, with the name "The International Dermal Institute (IDI)", which translated becomes "The International Dermal Institute". She invited authorized beauticians to get started with further studies (such as research studies and the like) in order to make Hudvårdsterapeuterna more attractive in the labour market. Today, IDI is considered the international "gold standard" for skin and body care further education. IDI is now available in 37 places worldwide.
While Jane Wurwand trained hudvårdsterapeuter at the IDI, she realized that there was no skin care product that appealed to her properly.
